Abstract

Introduction: The gonadal veins are anatomically asymmetric and there are several anatomical variations involving them.add Materials and methods: a variation in draining pattern of right gonadal vein was observed during a routine dissection done at Department of Anatomy, Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh Results: During routine dissection, we found there was duplication of right gonadal vein near the point of drainage and it was draining to both inferior venecava and right renal vein. According to the reviewed literature, a case like this was rarely reported. There was no other abnormality in the renal vascular anatomy in this case. Conclusion: The above variations may remain silent clinically and unnoticed until discovered during surgery and autopsy and when present, might increase the possibility of varicocele and infertility in patients.
