Atherectomy in treatment of lower extremity peripheral arterial disease

Abstract

Peripheral vascular disease (PVD) of the lower extremity is an important cause of morbidity and affects 10 million people in India, most of the time it involves superficial femoral artery. Various endovascular procedure can be used to treat peripheral arterial diseases. We are presenting case series of 35 patients which are presented with complains of peripheral vascular disease were treated with various combination of endovascular procedures like angioplasty, atherectomy and stenting. At 1 and 6 months follow up, all patient show significant clinical improvement.
