Effectiveness of professional image enhancement training programme for b.sc (n) students and its impact on their perceived image among general public

Abstract

Nurses are perceived in different domains by the public and the nursing students are solely responsible for the creation of the positive image of nurses. To increase this image, a study was conducted to assess the eeffectiveness of professional image enhancement training programme on professional image for BSc(N) students and its impact on their perceived image among general public. The study was conducted in two phases. Phase 1 consisted of the assessment of the professional image enhancement training on the practice of professional image of nursing students and phase 2 was to assess the perceived image of the nursing students among general public. 100 students in phase 1 and 100 persons in general public were selected by using purposive sampling technique. The data collection period was 15 days in each phase. After statistical analysis, the professional image among nursing students and perceived image of the general public were improved after the professional image enhancement training programme.
