A medico legal study on juvenile crimes in rayalaseema zone in andhra pradesh

Abstract

ABSTRACT: As per the statistics available, there are 10.2 juvenile offenders per 1 lack population in the world. In India the percentage of recorded juvenile crimes are about 0.9 to 1 % of total crimes. There are lots of factors which increase the development of delinquent behaviour of a juvenile. These include child abuse, family disintegration, violating Behavior, social dropouts, lack of contact with society and peer Influence and all these lead to antisocial behavior early in life. The purpose of this study is to analyze the types of crimes committed by the children, their age groups, their socio economical and educational status, their family status and to enquire into the action taken by the juvenile justice boards in rayalaseema zone in Andhra Pradesh and comprehensively to note about facilities available in the juvenile homes and finally to suggest any reforms for the betterment of juvenile offenders both inside the juvenile homes and outside.
