Rare case of isolated cerebral mucormycosis

Abstract

Isolated cerebral mucormycosis is a rare but life-threatening infection. We report a case of primary cerebral mucormycosis in a healthy adult. The diagnosis of fungal infection was made in the lab by isolation and culture of mucormycosis, then Bifrontal craniotomy with excision of the mass was done, conformed by Histopathological Examination and the patient was discharged. Early tissue diagnosis and the consequent surgical excision of the necrotic tissue and aggressive antifungal treatment option for this rare disorder.
